My friend, the tree

What a joyful handcraft time: one dozen children had come on Monday to the workshop of the Tree Protection Initiative Hanover to work together on the big “season tree”, which shows the transitions between spring, summer, autumn, and winter, and they did have a lot of fun in working with scissors, cardboard, and glue. Those who wanted could also build  a small tree to take home into their children’s rooms. Little Nina
(Photo) and her workshop colleagues did of course make use of this offer. The workshop had been organised by Julia-Gertraud Hamann, former field and forest guard of the city, as accompanying program to her photo-exhibition “Trees die silently”. On 120 photos, the declared tree protector shows how these mute living beings have been mistreated. “I try to motivate the people that they become more aware of what is going on around them”, the 54-year-old explains her engagement. The exhibition has already been staged in several ...Freizeitheime, until the end of this month is stays in the public library of the ...Freizeitheims Linden and can be visited during the regular opening hours. med / Arend
